CANCELLATIONS POLICIES ~
1. There are no exceptions to our cancellation policy, whether it be for reasons of sickness, family emergency, weather/travel delays, etc. We highly recommend you purchase travel insurance.
2. To cancel reservations without penalty, reservations must be cancelled at least 4 days before your check in date (by 3pm EST). Please call 802-388-4935 to cancel or change your reservation. PLEASE DO NOT EMAIL US TO CANCEL YOUR RESERVATION. If you email us to cancel and you fail to follow up, if you do not get an email confirmation that we did in fact cancel the reservation for you, you will be charged a cancellation fee. It is the guest responsability to make sure a room gets cancelled.
3. If you booked your room through a booking site such as Expedia or Booking.com, you need to call the booking site directly to cancel your reservation. Our online reservation system is through Cloudbeds. If you booked through us using our online reservation system (Cloudbeds) or over the phone, you can call us directly to cancel at 802-388-4935.
4. Rooms cancelled within 4 days of the check in date are subject to the following cancellation penalties. If you do not cancel at least 4 days before check in date, your credit card will be charged for a one night stay (per room) including applicable taxes if your reservation is for 1-3 nights. Cancellations for 4-7 nights will be charged for a 2 night stay (per room) plus applicable taxes. Cancellations for 8-12 nights will be charged for a 3 night stay (per room) plus applicable taxes. Cancellations for 13 or more nights will be charged for 4 nights (per room) plus applicable taxes.
5. Extended Stays Of 28 Nights Or More - All extended stays of 28 nights or more will be charged for 7 nights, plus applicable tax, at time of reservation as a deposit. If an extended stay reservation is cancelled 7 days or more, prior to check in, the deposit is fully refundable. But if the cancellation occurs within 7 days of the check in date, the deposit is NOT refundable.
6. Shortened Stays - If your stay is shortened upon or after check in, the cancellation charges outlined in #4 will apply. Cancellation charges are in addition to nights stayed. Example: Your reservation is for 2 nights. You stay 1 night and cancel the remaining 1 night. Your total charge will be for 2 nights (1 night stay & 1 night cancellation penalty).
7. When shortening a stay/checking out early after staying at least 1 night, you must check out by 11am in order to avoid a charge for that evening as a night stayed. Cancellation penalty will still apply to nights being canceled.
8. No Shows - If you fail to show up and stay in your room and do not cancel your reservation in advance, your credit card will be charged for the full amount of your reservation plus applicable taxes.
9. Date Changes - Check in date cannot be changed within 4 days of check in date (after free cancellation period has expired). Reservation must be canceled (cancellation charges apply) and rebooked.
10. Three Or More Room Reservations - Reservations for 3 or more rooms are subject to all of the same cancellation penalties stated in #5 but will be applied to each room reserved. You MUST also cancel within 7 days to avoid cancellatin penalties. If you cancel within 7 days of the check in date, the cancellation fees stated in #5 will apply to each room rented on the reservation.
GENERAL POLICIES
1. We will do our best to accommodate special requests noted at the time of reservation (adjacent rooms, room location, etc.), but they are not guaranteed and subject to availability.
2. Valid credit card and photo identification required at check in. If paying in cash, we do require a valid credit card to charge for incidentals. If paying cash, your credit card will be authorized for $100 at time of check in. The $100 will be removed if no additional charges are necessary from your stay. No exceptions!
3. Rooms will be held until check out time the following day of your arrival date. After this time, your reservation will automatically be canceled and you will be charged as a NO SHOW - your credit card will be charged for the full amount of all reserved nights plus applicable taxes.
4. Invalid credit cards will result in an automatic cancellation of your reservation. We will make an attempt to get a hold of you by phone, email and/or text. If we don't hear back from you within 1 hour of leaving you a message or sending you a text, we will cancel your reservation.
5. All rooms are NON-SMOKING. A $250 ozone cleaning fee will be charged to guests if smoking occurs in a room. Smoking not being permitted in the room is Vermont state law!
6. One free parking spot is available per room. Passenger cars only. Multiple cars, large trailers, large commercial trucks, large vans, buses and recreational vehicles (RV's) require advanced permission to park on the property to make sure we can accomodate such vehicle and to inform you of the best location to park.
7. Pets are allowed for an additional fee of $10 per night per pet with a 2 pet maximum per room. You are required to keep the room clean and without damage. Dogs also must be picked up after in the yard. We can provide you with bags for outside clean up. Just visit the office for bags. Cats are required to be housed in a crate when you are not in the room. A $250 cleaning fee will be charged to guests violating this policy.
8. Accepted forms of payment include: Cash (USD), VISA, MasterCard, AMEX & Discover cards.
9. Guests who do not vacate the room by check out time and have not received approval from hotel management to extend their check out time will be charged an additional one night stay.
10. All rooms are located on the ground floor.
11. Maximum number of occupants is 2 per single bed rooms and 4 for 2 bed rooms. Additional occupants beyond the maximum will result in immediate eviction of all guests without refund and/or additional charge(s) per person, plus additional cleaning fee. There are no exceptions to this policy.
12. Illegal activity on the premises is strictly prohibited and will result in eviction without refund.
13. Misconduct and disruption to other guests in not permitted. Uncooperative and disruptive behavior can result in eviction without refund. Parties are strictly prohibited and will result in immediate eviction without refund, plus the cost of damages.
14. Removal of property or damages to rooms, furnishings or any structures on the premises can result in additional charges incurred for replacement and/or extra cleaning.
15. Cancellation of a reservation by the motel - Availability is subject to change due to maintenance or any unexpected occurrences that prevent rooms from being occupied. The Middlebury Sweets Motel does reserve the right to cancel a reservation if necessary. No cancellation fees will apply if we are forced to cancel your reservation due to no fault of your own.
Covid 19 - We reserve the right to cancel a reservation(s) due to Covid 19 travel restrictions and any concerns we have for our current guests and staff with travelers arriving from out of state. If the motel cancels your room due to Covid 19 you will be notified in advance and no cancellation fees will apply.
16. We reserve the right to refuse service to anyone. Arriving for check in under the influence of drugs and/or alcohol is grounds for cancellation of reservation (cancellation fees will be applied) in order to prevent disruptions to other guests.
17. For the safety and comfort of all guests staying at The Middlebury Sweets Motel, visitors will only be allowed in a guest room if the guest has received prior approval from management. Unauthorized guests will be asked to leave.
18. Credit card on file will be charged for any additional charges including but not limited to: damage to furniture, fixtures or linens, theft of any items from guest rooms, damage to communal areas, additional cleaning fees (if necessary), smoking in rooms, pet damage, unauthorized extra guests, as well as any revenue loss or damage that renders the room un-rentable to the next scheduled guest.
